Adjusting of rollers is performed
by a hydraulic piston set in motion by a hydraulic control,
installed outside the pellet mill. The hydraulic operation
control is operated by an electronic switchboard.
Two rollers are jointed together by ties, what means that
they get closer or more distant from the die simultaneously.
Position of the rollers is regulated by an angular potentiometer
situated on the back side of rollers (on the inner part
of the main shaft). It informs about the angular position
of the pins/bolts of rollers. Knowing the measurements
done by the potentiometer, the electronic switchboard,
which controls the whole system, can estimate the distance
between rollers and the die.
Machine operator chooses the required position and the
electronic switchboard puts in motion the hydraulic system
and moves the piston until rollers achieve an adequate
position.
When the rollers are already put the way the operator
wanted the hydraulic system blocks itself automatically
thanks to two electric valves. The rollers remain in the
required position.
Advantages of this system compared with others, mechanical
ones
- hydraulic system is faster
- hydraulic system can work with more power (is stronger)
- hydraulic system is very precise
- maintenance is very simple
