Once again experience is extremely helpful. The selection of the
specification of a die is often the result of a compromise between
the different needs stemming from the many formulas produced by
a production plant and from the specific properties of the plant
itself. The most common mistake is to assume that the die is the
cause of all problems. The quality of a pellet can depend on many
factors that have nothing to do with the die, the first of them
being the poor steam-conditioning of the formulas. To overcome
this problems dies with a high compression index (large thickness)
